*South Aceh Police Chief Hands Over Wheelchair to Ikram, a Child with Disabilities in Sawang*
*Tapaktuan* — The South Aceh Police Chief, AKBP T. Ricki Fadlianshah, handed over a wheelchair to Ikram (7), a child with disabilities in Gampong Lhok Pawoh, Sawang District, South Aceh Regency, on Tuesday, August 18, 2026.
Ikram is the second child of Masrijal and Liza Desfita. Since birth, Ikram has had a congenital health condition that requires special attention and assistance in carrying out daily activities.
During the visit, the Police Chief not only provided the wheelchair, but also basic food supplies and additional nutrition in the form of UHT milk and eggs for Ikram’s family. The assistance is a form of care and concern from the Indonesian National Police for communities in need, especially during the momentum of the 81st Anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia.
South Aceh Police Chief AKBP T. Ricki Fadlianshah said the aid is part of the Police’s commitment to the community.
According to him, the spirit of independence is not only demonstrated through ceremonial activities, but also by being present and providing direct benefits to the people.
“This is a form of our care for the community during the 81st Anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia. The Police must be present and able to provide benefits to the people,” said the Police Chief.
For Ikram’s family, the assistance means a great deal. With limited economic conditions, meeting daily needs has been a constant struggle.
Ikram’s father, Masrijal, works as a fisherman. His job requires him to go to sea for long periods, sometimes for months, before he can return home to be with his family.
Meanwhile, Liza Desfita has been accompanying Ikram in his daily life, including ensuring her son’s health condition is monitored. Liza expressed her gratitude to the South Aceh Police Chief for the attention and assistance given to her son.
She hopes that this care will be considered a good deed and rewarded in the best way by Allah SWT.
“Thank you very much to Mr. Police Chief for your care for our child. May Mr. Police Chief always be granted health, safety, and ease in carrying out his duties, and may all his kindness be repaid,” said Liza.
Liza explained that Ikram has had a congenital illness since birth. Despite this, his physical condition has shown quite good progress and there have been positive changes in his health.
Ikram also still undergoes regular medical check-ups, at least once a year, at a health facility to monitor his condition.
The wheelchair assistance is expected to help Ikram carry out daily activities and make it easier for the family to support his mobility.
The Police Chief’s presence along with the assistance also reflects that the spirit of independence can be realized through simple things: seeing citizens in need, listening to their concerns, and then coming to provide help.
Amid the limitations faced by Ikram’s family, this attention strengthens the message that “Police for the People” is not just a slogan, but can be realized through real care in the midst of community life.
